An open letter to Chipotle’s CEO by Enzo

Dear Scott Boatwright,

Hello, Mr Boatwright, I wrote this letter to talk to you about your outrageous prices for food and to consider how your staff may be communicating.  Even if this essay is coming from a young person and doesn’t seem to sway you to change your prices for food, just please at least consider it as good business practice.

Firstly, many people have complained about your portion sizes. Some people even went on the internet posting about your supposed skimping’’ and stingy’’ servings. It got so bad CNN started to report about it. Many people have gone to Chipotle and have been recording your employees in hopes of better portions and service. Journalists and reporters have asked your employees how this makes them feel. Some didn’t care, some described it as annoying, stressful, and even dehumanizing. Mr Boatwright if you lower your prices people will accept your bad portions.

Chipotle increased prices 6 to 7 percent in order to cope with California’s new fast food wage of 20$.  This is understandable but you did it 3 other times. People love Chipotle. 750,000 people go to your restaurant every day. Don’t you want your customers to be happy, you can do it more if you reduce your prices.

Many people have complained on Instagram, Tiktok, youtube, and Reddit about rude Chipotle workers. From my experience I haven’t seen any rude Chipotle employees in person but it seems like a lot of other people have. This means you should also maybe start looking for new employees.

In conclusion, your company’s food is great. However I do think if you lower your prices you’d get more customers, Also you should increase your portion sizes. I recommend you make your employees ask customers how much they want of each topping.
